Kehilah Enrollment for 2020-2021/5780

Thank you for supporting Kehilah over the past couple of months!  While the end of the year has looked quite different from what we imagined, we appreciate your continued partnership as we have navigated the creation of a virtual program for our children.  We are grateful for your encouragement and commitment to our children’s Jewish education and engagement.

With closing days upon us, we want to remind you that the Kehilah team, as well as Temple’s clergy and staff, remain your partners in bringing Jewish education and engagement to your children and teens all year long.

Like you, we are watching the continuous conversations about what is and what is not safe, and when it will be safe to come out to play, learn, work and worship together again. And at this point, no one can say for certain what the situation will be in September. Even so, we have begun the process of planning for a range of options for September.

We anticipate that we will find ourselves in one of three basic scenarios in September:

  • Virtually – expanding upon how we have functioned this spring, adding more content and experiential at home opportunities.
  • Face to face – finding ourselves back in the classroom as before the pandemic, retaining and adapting some of what we have learned about connecting and community.
  • A hybrid – if we are told that small groups are safe to gather, we might combine aspects of the first two option.

Which one will depend entirely on protecting the health and safety of our learners, educators, staff and families. And if the situation changes, we will be flexible enough to shift from one mode to another.

So on to 5781 and the fall!
In order to properly prepare, we need to get a real sense of how many learners we will have. So we are asking you to begin the enrollment process now.

  • Forms for returning families were mailed May 13, and if you wish you can download fill-able forms using the links to the right.
  • We certainly welcome tuition now, but are only asking for a $150 per family deposit at this time. This amount will be credited toward tuition. (Please speak to me if this is a challenge for you right now.)
  • Tuition will remain the same as it was this past year.
  • In order to qualify for the $50.00 per student Early Bird discount, we must receive your form and deposit by July 15, 2020 AND by July 15 we must receive at least 1/3 of total tuition with a payment schedule or payment in full.
  • We know that many people have had some serious financial setbacks during this time of pandemic. If you need scholarship assistance, please contact me privately.
  • If you wish to spread out tuition payments over the course of the year, you will find that option on the payment form.
  • Requests for classmates and teachers must be received by August 7, 2020

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we move through these uncertain times. Wishing all of you good health and peace as we all look forward to an exciting year.

L’shalom,

Ira J. Wise. D.J.R.E.
Director of Education
