Important Bonim Preschool Update

Important Information – March 13, 2020, 11:00 a.m. Message

Dear Bonim Families,

After much consideration and conversations with healthcare professionals, we will be closed Monday, March 16 through at least Friday March 27th.  We have decided this is the safest decision for everyone at this time.  We will be monitoring the situation with health department officials and our advisory committee.  We will update the timetable as soon as possible.

We wanted to get this message out as soon as possible and will follow up with additional information.  The Temple offices and building are still operational, although Shabbat services will remain online and all in person gatherings have been postponed or cancelled.

If your child is not in school today, we have bagged up all their items in preparation for a whole school clean up on Monday with the teachers.  If you would like to come by today to pick up anything, please do so by 6:00 p.m. today.

We know many wish to help others during this time. Here are a few ways that you can help:

  • Operation Hope is in need of cleaning products to offer at their food pantry. Specifically they need: Lysol cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, toilet cleaner, dish detergent, laundry detergent, hand soap, Comet/Ajax, scrubbies and sponges. You can donate those directly to Operation Hope, 636 Old Post Road in Fairfield.
  • In the coming weeks there may be congregants who need help with deliveries or picking up prescriptions. If you are able to help, please email Rabbi Schultz, eschultz@cbibpt.org

Additionally, if you are experiencing financial hardship due to the coronavirus, please reach out to our clergy – eschultz@cbibpt.org, or smarion@cbibpt.org. We have some monetary funds and Stop and Shop gift cards to help you out at this time. Our clergy is here for any pastoral support or needs at this time as well. We always encourage you to reach out to them.

As always, we take health and safety as a paramount concern.

Please take all precautions to stay safe and healthy at this time. A reminder to remain calm and listen to the latest updates from the CDC and government experts. We will get through this together, as a community, and support those in need at this time.

I will also be here in case you need anything.

Thank you for understanding.

Sincerely,

Alexa Cohen
