Yad Vashem and How We View The Shoah
Mondays, November 13 and 20, 7:00 p.m.

Scott Verchin has been teaching Shoah (Holocaust) to our teens for five years. His primary focus has been on the heroes, fighters and rescuers. This past summer Scott went to Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Memorial Center in Jerusalem, for a weeklong seminar for Jewish teachers like him. There he was presented with new approaches to understanding and teaching the meaning and significance of the Shoah to his students. For two nights, we have asked Scott to share what he learned and how he is applying it to his teaching. Scott’s trip and this class were made possible in part by a grant from the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County.
