Scholar in Residence Shabbat Dinner & Presentation

Dr. Kassow bookDr. Samuel Kassow will be our Shabbat Scholar in resident on March 11 and 12.

Join us on Friday night March 11 at approximately 8:15 p.m. (following Shabbat services and dinner) for Dr. Kassow’s discussion on Remembering Polish Jewry:  The New Museum in Warsaw.

His topics will be of special interest not only to those traveling to Eastern Europe in August, but to all who are interested in contemporary European Jewish History. 

Dr. Kassow is  Charles Northam Professor of History at Trinity College in Hartford and the author  Who will Write our History: Emanuel Ringelblum and the Secret Ghetto Archive (University of Indiana Press, 2007) which is currently being turned into a documentary movie produced by Nancy Spielberg.  Kassow was also a consultant to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews that just opened in Warsaw.

He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University. A child of Holocaust survivors, Dr. Kassow was born in a Displaced Persons camp in Germany.

Dinner cost is $20 per person and please RSVP to Chris in the temple office.
