Musical Presentation – Freedom Song

October 29, 2017 - 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

See a Powerful Theatrical Experience

Join us at the Temple for a special presentation of the powerful musical “Freedom Song.” The play was developed by residents, staff and alumni of Beit T’Shuvah, The Los Angeles-based program is the only Jewish-oriented addiction recovery program in the United States. It is run by Rabbi Mark Borovitz, who has spoken several times at B’nai Israel.

According to the Beit T’Shuvah website, “Freedom Song is a transformative musical that will shatter the myth of Jews being immune to addiction. By interweaving a Passover Seder with personal stories of addiction, Freedom Song poses one stark question: What are you a slave to? “The cast of Freedom Song is not a cast of actors; they are actual addicts in recovery that have broken off the shackles of drugs, alcohol, gambling, and other destructive behaviors.”

Admission is free, and all are welcome. The performance is made possible by the generous donation of the Brian Mendell Memorial Fund. To learn more about the production, visit https://bit.ly/FreedomSongBTS
