Make it a day “on” not a day “off”! Commit to a Season of Service with the Office of Campus Activities and Civic Engagement at the University of Bridgeport. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is an event hosted around the country to celebrate the life and mission of the great Peacemaker. University of Bridgeport’s MLK Day of Service brings together hundreds of volunteers from all over the greater Bridgeport area to celebrate Dr. King’s dream through serving our local community. Past projects include work at local food pantries, knitting for hospice care patients, visiting elderly care facilities, painting and more!
Congregants will check in at 8:30 at Arnold Bernhardt Arts and Humanities Center. The opening ceremony will begin at 9:00 at Arnold Bernhardt Arts and Humanities Center, Mertens Theater. Service projects will be between the hours 9:30-12:30 at various locations on and off campus. Transportation to off campus activities will be provided. Registration for individual service projects can be completed during online registration. Complimentary lunch & reflections will be from 12:30-1:30 in the John J. Cox Student Center, Social Room.
