Option B for the New Year: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy

Yom Kippur Learning – Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. (between the morning and afternoon services)

After the unexpected passing of her beloved husband, Facebook COO and bestselling author of “Lean In” Sheryl Sandberg feared that she and her children would never find joy again. Fortunately, this fear was unfounded. She explored how we face adversity in her book “Option B.” Please join us for a conversation and some learning about ways to prepare, ways to cope, and ways to find joy. We will look at how we return from traumatic events, develop resiliency and even gratitude as a form of T’shuvah (repentance, literally returning to where we were before we missed the mark), which is basic to what Yom Kippur is all about. Our session will be co-led by Ira Wise and Tara Kerner, D.O. and Adult Psychiatrist.  We hope to combine resources of our tradition with those of the mind.
