A Concentration Camp Diary, Lecture by Timothy Boyce

Timothy Boyce, who practiced law for many years in Connecticut and North Carolina, will discuss and read excerpts from “From Day to Day,” a World War II concentration camp diary that has been hailed by The New Yorker as “among the most compelling documents to come out of the war.” It was secretly written by Odd Nansen, a Norwegian, the son of a Nobel Peace Prize winner, who was arrested in 1942 and held captive for the duration of the war in various Nazi camps in Norway and Germany. Boyce will explain who Nansen was, why he was arrested, why he wrote the diary, how he preserved it, and why this diary is as important today as it was when first written.
