Young Families Havurah is a weekly opportunity for families with children ages 0-5 to celebrate Shabbat through singing, activities, stories, and community. We welcome you to join us every Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Temple for bagels, followed by a fun and creative family service with Rabbi Evan Schultz.
Families love the opportunity to sit alongside their children for Shabbat songs, blessings and conversations. We always get up and dance, do yoga, march with the Torah and hear a Shabbat story. After our service, we join together for challah and juice, usually followed by an art project or playground time (in warmer weather). Our Havurah also joins together throughout the year for seasonal activities, such as apple picking in the fall, a Chanukah party at Bounce U, and a springtime Shabbat dinner picnic.
The Young Families Havurah is open to all members of the Greater Bridgeport community. You do not need to be a member of B’nai Israel to attend – all are welcome! Dress is casual. For more information about the Young Families Havurah or to join our email list, you can email our parent coordinator Rebecca Blondin or Rabbi Evan Schultz. We hope to see you at the Havurah!
